Happy Birthday, Darcel!

We celebrated Darcel's birthday on 22nd May in the canteen with a very special Barbie cake! It's really amazing how innovative cakes can be these days. We also had lovely goodie bags to go along with the celebration. On behalf of the class, I would like thank Mrs Anthony for coming down to school with the treats. Happy Birthday, Darcel! I'm pleased to announce that the children in 2 Hope had done their best in the recent Semestral Assessment 1 Examinations. Many of them had improved beyond my expectations! Well done, children! *Pat on your backs*

Points to take note for the exams [Remind child!]
1. Write down NAME, INDEX NUMBER and CLASS on exam paper.

2. Do NOT leave any BLANKS. Try every single question. Make intelligent guesses if you do not know the answer.

3. TIME is precious! Move on to the next question if you are stuck on a particular question. Do the questions you are confident in and then return back to the questions that you were stuck at.

4. READ INSTRUCTIONS. Many children do not read instructions and hence, they lose marks.

5. After completing the paper, always CHECK! [Check that you have done ALL questions and check your answers to see if they make sense!]

Happy Birthday, Zi Yang & Xiu Min!

It is Zi Yang's and Xiu Min's birthday on the 26th and 27th April respectively. They will be 8 years old! We celebrated Xiu Min's birthday in the canteen yesterday with a large cream cake =) Both children also gave out goodies to share with their friends. I would like to thank the parents of Xiu Min and Zi Yang for the wonderful goodies that were prepared for the class.

Sending A Postcard

The children went for a short trip to the postbox on 10th April to send a postcard to one of their classmates. This activity is carried out as it coincides with their English Unit 5 - Holiday Time where they are exposed to the text type - Postcards.

To make their learning authentic, the children each wrote a postcard to a friend in class. They pasted a stamp on their postcard and as a class, we walked over to the postbox along Bishan St 13. I hope the children enjoyed the experience of sending their own postcard.
